We were by Tiger Stadium earlier last week. Here is what it looks like now. It appears they are leaving the park from first to third base. At least that is where they are stopping for now. Very hard to see them do this. Many fond memories, many great times.

Way to go Chuck! Posting your first photo, and what a good one it is.
ReplyDeleteNow what do we do to get more of your 1969 classmates to post?
Thanks, Chuck.
ReplyDeleteAmong many many favorite memories of Tiger Stadium, these two stand out:
1. Seeing Denny McLain win his 30th game (Sept. 14, 1968, v. Oakland).
2. Going to the third game of the 1968 World Series and sitting in the lower deck bleachers, out by the flgapole

ReplyDeleteI have to give my wife credit for posting the picture. I ama computer dummy and could not do that, but I wanted you out of towners to see the progress.
As for my meories of Tiger Stadium --
bleacher seats for $1.00
running on the field in 68 when they clinched the American League pennant
being at the gane when they won the World Series in 84
my dad wrestling some guy on the floor for a foulball, and then he gave the ball to my cousin
watching a drunk climb the leftfield foul ball and seeing the pole sway.
