Sheffield was bitching this morning to the Boston papers about his platoon situation at DH. He doesn't feel like a ballplayer. Well Gary I have some news for you, you haven't played like one neither. What is your excuse now? A heel spur. a migrane perhaps. I think that it is just bad eyesight and you can't catch up to the fastball anymore.
When Leyland and Dombrowski read this, you can bet that he will be on his way to Tampa by September 1st if not by the end of the week. Clevlen will make more contact and can play the outfield. We need to see what he ca do as he is out of options next year and it looks like a sure bet that Clete Thomas will be up for good, along with Larrish.

Yesterday Shef. hit a memorable home run, I can't remember which number. Lately any hit is memorable. Anyhow today I received an email from a guy who does Tiger memorabilia. He was auctioning off "THE" baseball for $500 and he had 12 others from the game for $35 each. What a waste of dough.

I am not defending Shef's attitude or performance as a Tiger. I wil lsay, however, when he was here in lakeland this summer on a rehab assignment he always took time to sign autographs and pose for photos before games.
