OK so the Twins just swept the Tigers, but somehow losing to Minnesota bothers me less than losing to any other AL team. For some reason I always kind of liked the Twins, ever since they had guys like Harmon Killebrew, Tony Oliva and Rod Carew. They always seem to play sound fundamental baseball and stay competitive with one of the lowest payrolls in MLB.
How about it: do you have a favorite non-Tigers team?
For similar reasons to Tom liking the Twins, small payroll, unique atmosphere, loyal fan base through hard times, I used to be fond of the Red Sox, but nowadays they are just about as big time as the Yankees. Gag me.
ReplyDeleteI respect what the Twinkes have done the past 8 years or so but I hate the Metrodome. Weird things happen at the Metrodome. I can't wait till the Twins have a new stadium. I really believe the Twins won't be as good, because they will be losing the biggest home field advantage in sports. Look at the Twins home record vs there away record the past four seasons and it kind of proves my point.
