Rocky Colavito

Do you remember Rocky Colavito when he was with the Tigers? I used to listen to WJR when George Kell was broadcasting and Rocky was a Tiger. He was a piece of work. I think he once ran the bases from third to second to first and to home when he hit a home run.

PS Gregg, I went back to square one with your invitation and somehow it now worked. I can post!!! Jim Bernhold

  1. Welcome to the BLOG, but you must remember, don't knock the Rock!!! His stretching before each at bat was legendary. Very cool.

Do you remember him coming in to pitch against the Tigers later in his career and being the winning pitcher.

    Amazing!!!!

  2. Yeah I loved the way Rocky would do that thing where he stretched the bat back over his shoulders.

  3. Glad to see you here.
Who couldn't love Rocky? Remember the "Trade of the Century" when the Tigers sent batting champ Harvey Kueen to the Indians for the Rock? One of our best trades? I'll put it to a vote.
