Can we ever beat the damn Royals

Last night's loss was an embarassment. The lowly Royals own us. Will we ever see Yashburn pitch again for the Bengals? That being said, I am still thirlled at what we have accomplished this year. This next two weeks will be thrilling and we will survive - it might not be pretty though.
Eddie Bonine is going tonight - maybe he will be the unsung hero to start to pull it out for us, with a little hitting help from Polanco tonight. Tigs win 4-2

  1. Hindsight is 20/20, and from that perspective the Washburn trade sucks :)

  2. Close, Chuck. Tigers won 4-3, thanks to Polanco's game-winning hit. An impressively accurate prediction!

  3. It certainly was impressive! Can you conjure up another victory this afternoon?
Assuming that Leyland figues we can fall into the playoffs from here, perhaps he is manipulating the pitching rotation for the playoffs. 1. Verlander, 2. Jackson, but who is 3 and 4?

  4. BTW - I believe it was 41 years ago today the Tigers won the AL pennant. Scary when I remember that, but can't remember my daughters' birthdays.

  5. 4-game series w/ the Twins this weekend. They trail Tigers by 4 games. Detroit needs to win at least 3 of 4.

  6. Naw, we'll be fine if we take 2. If we lose all 4, we would have been thrilled to know our boys were tied for first as the season draws to a close.

  7. Porcello has earned the right to be #3, but from there I think we pray for a fourth starter by committee - nobody seems to want the job. My right arm has been a little tight so I am not available. Besides Tomorrow is my 40th high school reunion. 46 out of 81 guys are showing up, starting with a Mass, celebrated by Earl Boyea and Ron Victor - looing forward to it. Only problem is that Mass starts at 4:00 just like the Tiger game - can't find my transistor radio.
