Which Day will the Tigers Clinch?

OK folks -- we are down to the last week and the magic number is a lot higher than it should be. OUr boys are scaring me way too much. This series with Minn. will be HUGE. So what day do we clinch? I am saying Thursday after the day game -- what say ye?

    Friday night. I am thinking that they will split the 4 game series, which leaves the Tigers up 2 with 3 to go. Big game tomorrow night. A Tiger victory will put an awful lot of pressure on Minnesota. Porcello is going to earn his money tomorrow.

    Pio, to clinch on Thurs., wouldn't that require us to sweep Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs.? Doubtful.

    My nephew Keith has an interesting theory on streaks: KJ, chime in here, but if his theory holds true, we're dead meat.

    They win tonight and all is well again. Verlander will be so hyped up that I hope that he does not overthrow. Look for the Twins to hit a lot of balls the other way because of Verlander's fastball. They have to split and go into Friday with a two game lead or they are toast. Porcello is now done for the season. If needed, look for Verlander to pitch on Saturday and Porcello to go again on Sunday with all of the marbles on the line.

    It is thrilling, reminds me of the race with the Blue Jays in 87 and with the Red Sox in 67.
