will Leyland be back??

Should the Tigers not win in the Playoffs, will Jim Leyland retire or be retired?
Who will his replacement be?
How long does Gibson's contract run with Arizona?
How about Terry Francona?
Others?

Inconsistancy

How can we beat up the Angels and White Sox ... yet lose to the Indians and Bluebirds??
And many of the problems seem to come in later innings - evenVerlander ran out of gas the other day.  We will be there at the end, but it is challenging!!

Who do the Tigs get rid of, when Dirks comes back??

Delmon Young??  Ryan Rayburn?? (remember he is Leyland's pet)  Don Kelly??  those are three candidates.  Any others??

Football!!

Yeah! to the Lions for getting rid of Aaron Berry for his idiotic behavior.  DUI last month and pointing a loaded gun at people over the weekend.  These millionaire athletes need to realize there are consequences no matter who they are.

Look at the sanctions leveled at Penn State today -- good for the NCAA.

The Trade!!!

Well, it happened.  Jacob Turner, goodbye, hello Anibel Sanchez and Omar Infante.  This seals the deal for the Central Division and really sets them up for next year.  On top of that, they get a second 1st round choice in the draft next year.

The only question now is will Raburn accept an assignment to Toledo or just take his outright release?

I really like this deal even though Sanchez is a free agent at the end of the year.  The Tigers can resign him or let him go.  From what I have seen, Casey Crosby is the next starting pitching star for the Tigers.

This also says that Porcello will be around for a couple of more years.  He needs to miss more bats, he gives up way too many hits, but he is still only 23 years old in his 4th year.

Time to blow that lead wide open now.

Ichiro to the Yankees?  I love that too.  He is a New York, big time player, and will thrive in that lineup.

Introducing.................

Ladies and Gentlemen:  Your first place Detroit Tigers.  The sweet smell of success.  We have clawed our way back to the top.  Lots of work to do, but in the end we will be there!!

Don't Ya love it!!

What a season!!  What a patched together team.  The player who has played the most is the infamous DL.  But through it all we are only 2 1/2 out.  Verlander is superb.  Fister was awesome last night and Scerzer is coming on.  The four and five spots in the rotation will keep giving Leyland gray hair.  The duo of Cabrera and Fielder is fun -- don't ya love watching Prince leg out anything hit to the infield.  Boesch is returning to form.  There is a bar Downriver (Three Nicks) that is selling their draft beer at wahtever price rayburn's batting average is.  Was 1.67 last night - such a deal!!  Is Galaragga still in baseball.  It is excting watching Quentin Berry play 14 for 14 with his steals!!  Glad he made the majors at 27, he must really love the game for staying in the minors so long.  All of the writers in the Free Press and the clowns on the Ticket (97.1) get paid money to analize the team and they don't know any more than I do.  Will the Tigs do anything at the trade deadline - not that far away.
Going Friday to watch Verlander mow down the White Sox.  Don't give up guys!!
