Mea Culpa, Dombrowski and Leyland

For a few years I have been critical of Jim Leyland and Dave Dombrowski (even spelled Dave's name wrong on purpose). With the addition of Betemit (even though Inge is still MY Tiger), Delmon Young, and (especially) Doug Lister - Dombrowski looks like a magician. Cudos!! And the moves Leyland made yeaterday and has been making lately have been brilliant, Got to give those two men credit. When the Tigers finally clinch will Leyland smile? Watchioing him on those post game interviews you would think he lost 12 in a row, instead of winning.
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Dombrowski's trades have certainly yielded early dividends for Detroit. To truly judge them, though, let's wait and see how the players he traded away do for their new teams.

  3. The Dombrowski move that most impacted this team came during the offseason when he signed Victor Martinez to protect Cabrera in the lineup. Opposing pitchers face a lose-lose situation: Pitch to Cabrera with runners in scoring position (a mistake) or work around him/walk him and pitch to Martinez with multiple runners on base(also a mistake). Yankees, Red Sox, Rangers... Good luck with that.

  4. I still hope we don't have to play the Red Sox. Seems like we never do well in ye olde Fenway Park.

  5. I really agree with Jeff (whom I always think is the brightest of us all , no offense anyone) - Martinez was filling in the biggest link this year. And both he and Miggy will end up with over 100 rbbies. Jhopnny P. was the big snag last year
