Blockbuster trade??

Tigers got the 5th starter that they hope will keep us on top. With Seattle not in out division, I do not know much about either Fister or Pauley, but they have to help. Early in the season I liked Furbush, but he has faded - I still believe he is a great prospect. Casper Wells was on a team with a crowded outfield - has to be a good move for both teams.
What say Ye?

  1. I wouldn't call it a blockbuster, but it sounds like a good deal for both teams. I saw Furbush and Martinez at Lakeland and I believe they have potential but Tigers need help now.

  2. Are you counting Penny as one of the "five starters?" Somebody's got to tell that guy he's not major league anymore.

  3. are you saying they should cut penny? as a 5th starter he isnt that bad. 10 quality starts which no team in baseball has a 5 th starter with more and a 4.50 era. he isnt going to win 20 games or throw a no hitter but everybody knew what the tigers where getting when they brought him in. the guy is a solid # 5 starter making fister the #4. i dont understand why they are in such a hurry to send jacob turner down...he looked ready to me??

  4. I think they may regret trading Furbush.

  5. who knows what the Tiger braintrust is thinking about Turner. Sure he looked great, but shouldn't rush to get him up here. let his self-esteem build, continue to grow and learn.

Tigers may have just needed a role filler on Saturday, he filled it, did well, way to go kid! I wouldn't have wanted him left in for another pitch. He can feel great about what he did.

  6. I agree. Tigers rused Porcello to the big leagues w/ mixed results. Let Turner develop more.

  7. And speaking of trades, I see the tigers released Purcey, while the guy they traded for him, Scott Sizemore, is hitting .243 w/ 23 RBI for Oakland. Way to go, Dombrowski.
